HXR-MC1 Sample clip.
Here is a little short I put together using a PDW-700 and a couple of HXR-MC1 mini cams.

Wow, great work Alister! Thanks for sharing this. It's really nice to see these guys in the air, although twenty-somethings in the cockpits with leather caps would have been a tad more historically accurate. Not a serious complaint, though -- it's wonderful to see these machines flying. Much appreciated,

Given that some of the aircraft are replicas I think there are a few instances where the pilots are older than the planes. You are quite right however that in the Great War many of the pilots were teenagers.

Alister,
Your video seems to play better/smoother than most internet videos. Can you share how it was rendered? (Resolution, frame rate etc.) It really is superb work. |
Hi Duane.
It was shot at 50i 1920x1080 then de-interlaced (I normally shop progressive) and encoded as a Quick Time .mov using H264 compression at 4Mb/s 1280x720, then uploaded to YouTube. One of the secrets is to have a clean image with low noise. |
Thanks Alister, I'll try that sequence. I have a feeling my embedded flash players are more choppy than the Youtube or Vimeo players.

Awesome footage, have you ever tryed the GOPROHD or CONTOURHD 1080p helmetcams?
Your footage is very pro! thx |
I've tried the contourproHD and it just doesn't have the image quality of the MC1, but then the MC1 is a lot more expensive.
