Blackmagic switchers and formats
 

Something I can’t quite understand or solve?

Three JVC cameras in my studio they work into my BM television studio one via hdmi and the others via sdi. With a couple of Blackmagic sdi to hdmi converters they also work fine into my atem mini. What doesn’t work is plugging in the atem mini as a source to the other. The Blackmagic i know are temperamental about their inputs but I expected the two switchers to work with each other! Even stranger they are happy with 1920 x 1080 from my MacBook but wont take it from my nvidea card in my edit pc. For info the mini into the tv studio has a distortion and visible line near the very top and a slight jitter. Anybody experience this issue?

I've had related challenges with my Intensity Shuttle USB. I can't run my S-VHS deck straight into it via Y/C or composite without sync problems. Passing the signal through a DVD recorder seems to solve it, as if it's functioning like a TBC.

It does seem strange that the ATEM Mini outputting colour bars can't feed another ATEM switcher - I've not tried it the other way around though. Not being able to use the 1080 output from the computer is very annoying though.
