2/3" the Way

I personally think that the 1/3" Cameras has been pushed to the limits, its probably time to move up to "prosumer" 2/3" that will be the next "Killer" feature.

BUT making 2/3" "prosumer" camera without killing their other 2/3" "pro" cameras is probably the only thing stopping manufacturers making them.

Mind you If you use HDV compression (or some other limiting compression) Plus Fixed lens THEN maybe then it might be crippled enough to make such cameras.

The Sony XDCAM HD @ $20K has a lot more features the Panny HDX400 @ $32K which is 1080i60 period. But as always picture quality will decide.

Barry,

When I can rent all the new HD cams I'm going to do my own shoot out to find my next cam. I've read a lot online that the noise in shadows is lower with the H1. But you are the master so I'll take your word for it.

Thanks

Just basing it on what I saw at DV Expo, not through exhaustive comparison testing (yet). Looks to me like the Z1 is a bit cleaner than the XLH1.

Shannon could perhaps throw some footage together to test that for us though!

Maybe people can post what they see and hear at CES here (or start a CES news thread) for Chris to lookup when he hits the show.

By the way, saw a picture of the HDV GL and one of the HDV like Everio already, so hopefully we might see something at the CES.

Cost driven

Kurth, you are right again. Cost and quality will drive the market. Did you give some thought to my camera info. I sent you?
Thanks!
