35mm still lenses to 1/2" CCD camera
 

To a 1/2" CCD camcorder such as Sony's XDCAM-HD PDW-F330, there is one Century Optics adapter available at here:

BTW, is there the magnification factor similar EF adapter to XL series (7.2x) -- in this circumstance will it be the case of 2x; or not?

About DOF, will it have the same shallow DOF of the 35mm adapters like Mini35 or M2; or not?

after all that forum is all abotu putting 35mm lenses on video cameras.

alt imaging is for 35mm adapters that use a ground glass or other projection target area.. there is no magnification in the lense's image.. the ef adapter that you mentioned doesnt preserve the image

long explanation made short:

you know how you have a large depth of field and its like almost everything is in focus unless you zoom out alot? and how 35mm slr lenses for still cameras have a deep dof and you have lots of control over the focus? a 35mm adapter lets you use 35mm slr lenses (which are extremely cheap..and you can build a nice collection of different focal lengths)

you cant just throw one on the front of lens.. because then it would be turned into a supertelephoto lens.. because your ccd is alot smaller than 35mm film.. so these adapters have ground glass which act like projection screens.. and your camera uses macros to zoom and focus on these screens.. you can spend 10's of thousands of $$ or you can buy a cheap adapter like a letus, sg35 etc... i have a letus35 and an xl1s.. the letus cost me $300 2nd hand and my video looks amazing (IMHO). check out alternative imaging forums.. you can spend hours looking at peoples footage.. you will become addicted..i guarantee it

its all about target size... even a 1/2 inch ccd is not close to 35mm film.. so its magnified. and loses DOF. DOF is determined by focal length, aperture, and target size. target small (ccd) = LARGE DOF target big (35mm) = shallow DOF. These adapters you're posting are 35mm lens straight to camera which means the target is the ccd.. these adapters in the alt imag. forum use another target of ground glass (or other object) to project the image onto... a target comparable in size to 35mm film.. thus maintaing size and DOF of the lens..

i wouldnt recommend those adapters that you mentioned (like the ef adapter) unless you're into wildlife videography and want some supertelephoto lenses.. cuz that what those adapters will turn your 35mm lenses into
