Two-camera audio-syncing...

After using the FX1, Z1U, HD100, HVX200 and XL H1, I've settled on the FX1 and the HD100 as my first forays into HD filming.

I've been using DV for a little while on events and have decided to upgrade for filmmaking, my eventual goalpoint.

While filmmaking is my primary reason for changing, I will still be doing my fair share of events to, you know... make money to live.

I'm selling my DV and it's equipment to make this purchase as painless as possible, and this will be my first time having two different cameras with different speeds.

Which brings me to my concern... How will the use of two different cameras with two different recording speeds affect my audio situation, and what can I do to repair/avoid such difficulties? Is my only solution to use one camera for audio sync and just use the other one as open coverage? Like, for instance, having one cam close on the subjects, and the other panning across the back or taking reaction shots, therefore independent of the audio?

I've dealt with video falling out of sync with audio and I know what a pain it is. I know this is a bomb waiting to explode, but I also know this is the best place to ask about it.

In case it comes up, the reason I'm getting these two cameras is because they fit my budget... The FX1 will serve simply as my second event cam and the HD100 will be the cam that I use for both events and filmmaking.
