Reducing banding?
 

I'm using some Apple Motion effects to set a mood for a sequence in my new film. The effects sorta like like fabric or light flow though the frame and overlayed images.

I'm getting some pretty serious banding artifacts. I know some of this is inherit with the HDV codec, but is there anything that would help?

I've already tried blurring and Magic Bullet's deartifacting.
