Making a BluRay from Edius 6

We have a dance show to shoot this weekend & I normally only make DVD`s of shows we film however, I`ve been asked for a BluRay version, so a couple of questions. What`s the best file to use to export from Edius 6 to use in Encore for BluRay & secondly is it possible from within Encore to make either a DVD or BluRay without having to remake the menus?

You can use MPEG2HD elementary stream export or if you have an i7 with quicksync you can export with the h264 Bluray preset with Intel hardware. Both Sony DVD Architect and Encore will use these files.
I mainly use DVDArchitect and for that it is just a matter of changing properties and exchanging the video files. I use this all the time and just author once.

I exported from Edius as a "Bluray" preset which created an .mts file. Made a Blueray project & imported the menus I had already created for the DVD version & then had to set up the various author points. Turned out fine but I had hoped I could have done it from the original DVD file but was advised to make a new project.

BTW Ron, youngest daughter & family have just come back from Ottawa having visited their friends who are on a 2yr Royal Navy posting, they showed us some video of your fair city, looks good :-)

Yes we like it here. We emigrated from Derby in 1970 and have been here ever since. I traveled a lot around North America and Europe with my work but I still like the wide range of things to do in Ottawa. Sail in summer, ski in winter etc.
