Opening file in edius 7
 

I had to put together a photo montage on my old edius machine with edius 6 because that's where the software was but I can burn a Blu-ray much faster in my new machine with edius 7
When I took that HQ file over it did not show can you not make it HQ file in 6 and use it in 7?

Not sure I understand what happened.
Did An E6 project file just not open, or did you get an error message?
Did you export the E6 project to a HQ file and then were not able to open the HQ file in E7?

E6 projects should open in E7. However, the media files need to be in the same paths path relative to the system and with same file names. Also, you will need to have E7-compatible versions of the plug-ins for any effects you used to be present. If you save the project with E7 it may not open again in E6.

Jim a HQ exported file should open in any EDIUS version. Certainly I used to export a HQ file from EDIUS 6.08 and open in EDIUS 8.5 WG just fine it would also open in EDIUS 7.5 too. So there is something else going on with that file. Do you have Quictime on one PC and not the other? Was it a MOV HQ file.
