Resolution depends on film stock. I know that the cinematographer crowd can be picky (just go to their boards and observe) but 35mm apples to frame size, all the other things are side benefits of the top performance of 35mm. We are acting like they named their camera TopTrue35mm (actually the TT35 sounds kind of good) we should wait and see how good it is. The name does not bother me, as long as they deliver something that is real 35mm farming.

Shooting for the big screen resolution tends to a lot more important than when you're shooting only for TV. That's why many people don't use 35mm adapters for video/HD productions intended for theatrical release.

Yes, big screen resolution, and from an true resolution perspective it gets close to 1080p which can be uprezed (the latest uprez techniques might take ages but deliver better). Even 720p should give an acceptable enough quality.

For the past 4-5 years, from my first thread, you will see that I have been advocating pure optical adapters as the best option, most non optical adapters do not have the resolution. There are few adapters of the grade, there was an optical adapter by one of the film camera companies, but I can't remember the name.
