Syncing HD footage in post?
Hello,
We recently shot a music video with the HVX200 (720pn), we shot various takes in 48fps. At the time we were not planing to use those takes at regular speed, so we didn't speed up the song for playback. However, now I would like to use parts for those takes at regular speed, to sync up to the music. How much should I speed up my 48fps (24p timeline) to match the music? Is it 200%, it can't be that easy can it? I know I will not be able to get a perfect sync throughout the whole song whole but does anyone have an approximate number? Thanks |
Your post is a bit confusing:[list][*]For 48fps footage "regular speed" is 48 fps[*]If you want the footage to be 2x slow motion (halve the speed), you should have sped up the music/playback at record time
As it stands, you won't be able to use the footage for slow motion at all if you need it to (lip)sync with on screen talent. There is no fix for that. To use the footage on your 24p timeline you may need to conform it. How to do that depends on what editor you use. George/ |
