M2t player?

Anyone know of a good M2T file player for use in a 64 bit environment? I tried VLC player but it won't work with Vista 64 bit.

I'm not sure how available it remains or whether it is compatable but there was a software around called HDV Monitor??. It was a bit crashy on my borderline XP system. My recall is very vague on this though.

MPlayer Classic

64bit and x64 - Media Player Classic - Home Cinema

The 64 bit version is still Beta... works flawlessly in 32.

ERV is it free?

Strange - VLC works just fine for me on Vista 64 (with HDV).

Yes, it is free.

VLC or mplayer, definitely. For almost everything. Or, MPEGStreamclip can playback too.

I use VLC on my Vista 64. I have the latest version, of course, but that's what I'm using.

Thanks,
Matt

I'll join the chorus. VLC works perfectly for me under Vista 64 watching M2T files or anything else I throw at it.

It is working for me fine as well. I don't care much for it, but it does work. I dislike that it always opens in a large screen, and won't reopen at the same size it was when it last closed. For free it is fine.

Has anyone figured out yet how to make Streamclip show correct aspect ratio?

That's why I love MPlayer. Settings are a little overcomplicated but once you got them right, it's the ideal player - at least for me.

Hi Jeff,

VLC does have a rather tedious interface. But, under Settings\Preferences...\Video there is an option under the advanced options to specify a zoom factor. On my laptop, I have it set to 0.5. When I open an m2t file, it always appears in a standard window and at the requested resolution. Admittedly, it doesn't remember if you resize the window. Not sure if that helps.

That does help John, thank you.
