what are your custom settings in audio and video ? any certain setup to maximize the look from HD to TMPGE?

I am really impressed with TMPGes filters for solving the HD10s chroma noise problems

If 720p WMV looks visibly better than typical SD DVDs, then I can't see why I should care much (for now) that it doesn't look as good as the raw source footage. My current DVDs don't look as good as source DV played directly to a TV, but I don't worry about that so long as my customers are happy. The only practical way out of this is to have a distribution format which can store finished projects at the original bandwidth, and it sounds like we'll have that in a year or so with Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Until then, I'll take any improvement I can get over SD DVD quality.

Regarding 720p versus 1080i, it will always be the case that more computers can play the former than the latter: just look at the hardware requirements for each. Hence for computer-based DVD and internet distribution, 720p makes more sense on a long-term basis regardless of what the players are capable of processing.
