Need Better Intermediate HD Codec (PC)
 

Currently using an MJPEG codec as my intermediate HD editing codec. Problem is it's buggy and Vegas frequently drops frames when rendering files from an MJPEG source. Wierd, huh?

Tried various QuickTime codecs, not satisfied with any of them really. DVCPRO limits you to 720x480 (why I don't know - any way to hack around this?).

Cineform's codecs result in unacceptable quality loss. The colors just get completely messed up from converting from MPEG_TS to the Cineform HD codec.

Any other ideas? I'm willing to use QuickTime. But I need to use _something_.

You seem to be having troubles with our codec that are not typical. We do have the best intermediate codec on the market (proven all the way to film out.) So if you interested in working through the issues you will have the best solution with the CineForm codec. Please try Connect HD 1.9 for the lastest compression algorithms.

Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely willing to try to work through the issues. I'll post up tonight a comparison of an M2T screenshot, an MJPEG screenshot, and a ConnectHd screenshot, and maybe you can help me figure out what's wrong. I am sure, based on its popularity, your codec is awesome, but unfortunately so far it's just not working for my application. But if we can get it to work, I'll definitely buy it and use it.
