what do i need to edit HDV?
 
Do I need to purchase PCI card/hardware to capture/edit HDV to my PC or just a software? sorry for my bad english.

Do you have a Firewire (also known as IEEE-1394 and also i-Link) connection on your computer?

If the answer is Yes... then you do not need hardware.

If the answer is No... then you need to purchase a Firewire PCI card to put into your PC.

What HDV camera are you hoping to capture pictures from? It would help those who might be able to give you the exact answer you are hoping to be given to know what brand and model of camera and computer you are wanting to use.

What Operating System are you using on your computer? Mac/PC?

Some newbie folks type PC, and later on we find out they've got a Mac Powerbook or the like...
