laptop for HDV edit/encode/etc
hi all,
I m planning to get a new HD d8000 series laptop for HDV work. The d8000 features 2 models - t and z. The r sum pretty powerful notebooks and as far as i understand both r a good choice for what i intend to use 'em for. Both models r practically identical save for CPU. The t model uses Intel Core Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz) and z model - AMD Turion 64 ML-44 (2.4GHz/1MB L2 Cache). Im not sure which 1 to get. According to the tests i found on the net the AMD got the 1st prize but when i called HP the rep told me that the Intel, being a dual core, would be a better choice. I really need to get to the buttom of it and get the 1 that fits my requirements. I m hoping that perhaps sum of you have used/evaluated above processors for you line of work and got sum good understanding of the differences btwn the 2, or maybe even sum handson with em. thank you all in advance mike |
For HDV work I'd recommend the dual-core solution, unless you can find someone who's successfully editing HDV on the single-core setup.

Thank you, i went with Pentium Duo.
Waiting for it to arrive. |
