For those of you unfamiliar with NewTek's products, check out their demos. Thay have a stand at NAB or you can check it out at http://www.newtektv.com I've been editing for the past 6 years or so on the predecessor to speededit and it's a hell of a system. Lots better than Sony Vegas or Final Cut. It's faster and it takes virtually any clip in any format you can throw at it and plays it back in real time over component or firewire. Even very large jpegs can be panned around in real time with quality on par with what you get out of Adobe After Effects. Up until now it has been out of reach for many because it was part of the VT suite which costs over $5000 and includes features that many don't need like live production capability, but now that the standalone editor has been unbundled for $495 it's worth checking it out.
