heavy duty luggage cart?
ok i have enough gear now that it takes a few trips from the car and taking it through the airport on the occasional out of town project is a bt of a hassle for one person.

has anyone here found a decent luggage cart that is strong yet folds up well to not take up a world of space in the car?

would prefer something that could be used as carryon if need be.

How about packing all your stuff in Pelican or Pelican type cases with wheels?

I don't know about you, but the less crap I have to lug with me into the actual aircraft, the better! I usually have to deal with, cellphones, laptops, PDAs, MP3 players, and other electronic paraphenalia that give the TSA folks a fit.

The Pelican cases are sturdy, (understatement), can be locked with padlocks and are airtight. There is probably nothing I wouldn't place in them for protection.

Try the Pelican Cube cases or some of their 1600 series.

Bag 'em, Tag 'em and Pick 'em up on the other side! In other words...K.I.S.S. !

checked luggage cannot be locked any longer. TSA WILL break it to open it if they feel they need to look inside and a locked bag will invite them to look.
Why not ship the stuff like tripods and lights via UPS or FEDEX if you're staying in the states. Ship it directly to your hotel, let them know you've done so and the good places will sign for it and hold it until you arrive.
I've done that in the past and it's worked out OK.

2/3 of my usage isn't for airlines, just for getting it into venues etc.

i have a LOT of hardigg cases and a matching set of porta brace stuff!

i am just looking for ways to make one trip instead of two, or two instead of three.

i found a nice looking luggage cart at target.com of all places.

it is like $39 and it seems identical to the ones sold at specialty places for $150

Ahhh, sorry, thought you'd be flying. I have a cart from Target also, it's black, looks good, holds alot and I hardly ever use anymore. Got it about a year ago. I pared down my stuff for more portability but if the cart you saw is like the one I've got it then it should be fine for you.
