Mini camera jib cable pulley system plans?
 

Hey, does anyone know where I can see some good pictures of how the pulley systems on some small jibs work, or some plans for it? I have a pretty good idea, I know the pulley at the tripod mount can't move, and when you tilt the jib, it keeps the camera level. Right? I'm no engineer, or machinest, or whatever, but i'm not all that dumb either, but I don't understand where you put the bearings at, for smoooooth movement, heh. I DO know how bearings work though. :D

I'm going to whip up a tripod mount plate and a camera plate thing, whenever I can figure this out. :)

You can use a cable system to keep the jib level. Then you can
also use a cable/pulley system to operate the head remotely.
I'd guess you need bearings to keep this all running smoothly.

On the axle mounting the arm to the tripod plate and on the arm to the camera plate, you should use thrust bearings to avoid too much friction. They can probably be just brass washers but without them, the system won't move as smoothly as it can or should.

Even my really cheaply constructed Cobra Crane uses needle thrust bearings.
