I think you are going to run into airline luggage weight restrictions and have to pay for the extra weight. You should check with the airline(s) to find out what their policy is/are.

The first solution, if you are using standard bar-bell weights, would be to purchase the weights on location -- they are not that expesnive etc.

Next solution would be to ship the weights ahead via UPS to wherever you are going to be working.

Could you use water filled weights?

Maybe just carry the smaller weights for fine tuning and use something else that can hold water to add weight. I've been dinged hundreds of dollars for overweight bags. Comes with the territory. Usually 50lbs in the limit on most airlines these days.
Here is a link to one of the weightbags from photoflex that you can fill up with water http://photoflex.com/Photoflex_Produ...bag/index.html

Also, Microdolly has a pretty cool weight cage where you basically just put your extra gear and/or water bottles in the cage. Not sure if this will work with your jib but it's nice to know about http://microdolly.com/micro_3.html

Thanks for your replies. I dont think the Weight cage will be compatible with my JIB arm. Also the water/sand bag will nto be a reliable option as the hole where it gets tied tot he jib arm i feel might come off any moment & will give way to imbalance my Jib at any point of operation. I have got no option to carry weights & end up paying $$$ for the same.
