The motorized head cost me aprox 2'200 $ ( it's a cameraturret PT20 ) with shipping and taxes , the tripod ( Cartoni ) - 700 $ and the rest of materials aprox 700 $ .
Hope this help you decide what you what to build :) ! I will post soon another video with the creane on a music concert . |
Hi Sergiu, that is one nice looking crane. I have a few questions that I hope u can help me with :)
1. How are the bearings done for the pivot point? Are they fitted onto the bracket? 2. I noticed a rotating interface between the tripod and the braket that holds the crane itself. Did u machine that with some kinda bearings below as well? I m having headaces with the bearings now.. dun know how to complete that part of the design.. hopw u can give me some photos if possible. Thanks! |

What can you tell me about the performance of the head? would you be comfortable using that is a profesional envirment.
I have been lokking at the Jimmy jib lite, but I don't have that kind of cash. I need that over the crowd concert shot. |
The head perform very well. No problems until now. You need to practice a little bit to become comfortable with the joystick. I usually operate this crane alone and using in professional environment ( tv and film work, events and stage concerts ).
