NTSC on PAL TV? And NTSC HD to DV25 PAL?

1.Will NTSC work on my somewhat new sony PAL TV? I need to know this before I buy myself a jvc-hd10u

2.And how will downcoverted MPEG2 .ts NTSC HD 1280*720 to DV25 720*576 or even PAL DVD on a PAL tv look like?

3.Will this look better than dv from say DV from the panasonic DVX100 Mini-DV 24P (PAL) ?? Or will the picture just suck in comparision??

Do you live in PAL country? If you do, make sure you buy a PAL cam. If the PAL version of the HD10 is out, it will also record in PAL. As for HD, I'm not sure an ordinary PAL TV will support this. Perhaps Mr. Mullen would know.

Even the European version for the HD10 (JY-HD10E) shoots at 30/60Hz not the 25/50Hz needed for PAL. There is a non-HD version called the GR-PD1 that will work for PAL downconverts. Fortunately in Europe if you shoot in HD you need to stay in that mode.

There is PAL and 720p50/60 or 1080i50/60. But TVs are only PAL.

If you buy a projector or plasma it will play ALL of the above--or at least PAL plus 720p60 and 1080/60. Which means for HD, you can get the NTSC version.

if you want PAL DV, you must give up HD.

Thanks! One more thing...

I live in Sweden witch is a PAL country.
But I don´t want the GR-PD1 that don´t support HD, cause HD is the main argument for this cam anyways. So I will go for the JY-HD10u and GET HD, and I will just hope that It will work on my tv and that the downconverted HD --> DV25 P Pal looks great on for example DVD

Do you think that the downconverted NTSC HD --> DV25 P Pal looks better on my TV than for example the panasonic DVX100 (PAL version ) fottage?
