Heath McKnight will help us out as a forum leader.

Howdy from Texas,

As of 11/11/03, long-time community veteran Heath McKnight has agreed to help us out as a forum leader here. I guess I would say "welcome aboard, Heath!" but he's already firmly entrenched here, so it'll just be "welcome to your new position, Heath!" Or, something like that.

Heath's role here, like all of our community wranglers at DV Info Net, is simply to provide a bit of guidance in areas where our forum regulars might miss out on, such as welcoming a new member, or responding to a question that hasn't been answered yet, etc.

The HDV format is very new and so is the technology behind it. We're not going to pretend to have all the answers, but we'll do our best to find out what we don't know. With regard to our forum leaders here at DV Info, although they own the gear, we're not expecting them to become the ultimate authority on the subject. Instead, they're chosen primarily because they're friendly, amiable, helpful people. I think Heath fills that bill nicely. Our community leaders aren't supposed to be traffic cops, but rather more like librarian guides. We'll point you in the right direction, with a friendly word and a smile. Our goal here is to provide a courteous, friendly, professional environment first... all the right answers and information will fall in place naturally because of that.

Welcome to the team, Heath!

Happy to be here, everyone. I couldn't have said it better myself, Chris, about this forum and HDV. The format excites me, even if the HD10 can be frustrating (editing solutions for the Mac, etc.), but it's the format everyone figured the "masses" would be able to one day use: HD. And that day is now, to borrow a tired cliche.

If you've got questions, answers, solutions, etc. to HDV, you're at the right place! I'm personally happy to be here! DV Info Net's Community is top notch, and I try to visit as often as I can.

See ya on the board!
