AtomFilms Hi-Def - cool place to get film played
Hi guys,
I just read this cool thing about Atom Films doing High-Def indie's, so I wanted to pass on the information to us HDV users. http://www.uemedia.net/CPC/directors...cle_6223.shtml WMVHD is their codec scheme, but it's weird because they are saying "Near DVD quality" on their opening page. http://atomfilms.shockwave.com/af/sp...ections/hidef/ Murph |
The quality all depends on the bitrate that they might be suggesting. Sure, media 9 would be 'near DVD quality' if they say to use a 3 megabit rate. What do they recommend to submitters?

I always read that Atom Films actually KEPT the (c) of your film! Is this true?

I think the "Hi-Def" tag is just a sales ploy, and not really hi-definition, it's probably standard definition at better quallity than they used to make available.

I did try this and two of the 6 or 7 films are 1280x720p WMV sources, very nicely encoded film scans. I hope to see more soon.

David, what did media player report as the bit rate?
-les |
The WMVHD short "Gulp" reports as 6320Kb/s which is about correct for a 330,000k file that plays for 7:17.
|
GULP was made via Ford, right?

Yes, the Ford Focus and the fish.
