43 Days And Counting For Repair
Each time I send a camera away to JVC for repair it is always a surprise as to how long it will take. This time, I sent a GY HD250 out because the firewire died (despite our best efforts of following all protocols) .
It arrived at the repair facility on Feb 20th. Today I called and they expected parts for the camera around April 16th. That is 43 days since it arrived. I am counting business days, not all days.... sigh. I hesitate to call my dealer to put pressure on them. It seems like I do that 50% of the time and I'm sure it amounts to an annoyance. I can't even imagine someone who only has one camera having to live without it for months at a time because of this lengthy service. At least we have another camera that is presently working. you can always check the status of your camera by going to:

It's very annoying to say the least.
My HD100 was out for repair for 4 weeks total because the CCD block replacement was not in stock. I honestly cannot understand these companies that sell pro level cameras and think that its ok for repairs to take so long. |
