Audio Emergency

I am having trouble getting the audio from my second microphone. I did some test shooting today before filming tomorrow and for some reason I am not getting the audio from the second Mic. I have the input switch set to the middle. Is that correct? Or do I need to have it set to input 2 to pick up both. I have both of the audio inputs set to mic-48v. Help......

The CH2 Input switch on the tape door side of the camera has two positions. You want to be on CH2. There IS no "middle".

I so hope that is all that it is. I filmed a piece last week and was getting the audio just fine, almost fine, a couple of what sounded like static cliches. For some reason today when I was setting up I set it in the middle. I did go out and get a new cable because of those audio clitches from last week, I was using a very old cable that a friend gave me... Thank you.

Yeah, there IS no middle position. It's either CH1 (which mirrors the sound at Input 1 onto both CH1 and CH2) or CH2 which allows for two channels of discrete recording from two discrete inputs, often mistakenly referred to as "stereo".

I was sitting here trying to figure out what had gone wrong and wondering how the heck I was going to get any sleep at all tonight. So thanks to you I will actually get some sleep tonight. I will just get there very early tomorrow and do another test before getting started.

And that's all the reason I would EVER need to share any pearl of advice I have. Sleep well and good luck. Glad I could be of help.

Thanks so much. Everything went well. I am still having a clich pop up in the audio once in a while. It reminds me of a sound effect I have heard used in films in connection with electronic devices gone bad or evil robots..... It is like an electronic static and I can't seem to deterime the cause. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks
