Nikon Lens and Battery Nirvana

I have posted before about mounting Nikon Lens via an adapter, we had one made by Zoerk. Info is available on this
forum. I had also posted info on using Lead Acid battries till a solution comes along. We recived our Anton Bauer mount and have used are Swit batteries. The lead acid info is also available on this forum. The Swit last 3-4 hours. I have uploaded clear pictures for all to see. Will post shoot results
with the Nikon Lens soon as .mov or dvx files in HD.

Great shots! Thanks for sharing these, Yusuf!

Great stuff Yusuf. How are you feeding the LCD mounted on top of the camara?

Moniter Feed

Composite out from the VIDEO/Y out, topmost of the three Component RCA out which also send only a composite signal
in GYHD100. The LCD is a 16X9 DVD player I bought in the local market and has its own battery which runs for three hours. You can flip the picture as well, this will help when we get the Redrock which is on back order.

It helps for compostion and lighting on Location, but we still carry our CRT HD monitor when we are able to powerup, and if its TVC then we carry a generator to the Location. I have yet to find a LCD which is portable less than 17 inch and can be trusted for critical colour monitoring.

Looks great Yusuf! Are you noticing any substancial sharpness/detal/resolution difference with the Nikons over the stock lens? Thanks for posting the pics.

I was told you can fully trust DV-Rack. In a laptop, it's as portable as it gets for a HD monitor. I will be buying it soon.

Yusuf - fantastic shots.

Have you tried it with a wider angle lens to see how close to normal shooting you can get? (I have a 12 - 24 which would work out to about 80 - 170 35mm equivalent I think)

I was thinking for the micro 35 you need to source some kind of small relay lens to get the most out of the setup - I know it would need macro capability and I'm guessing it would have to be wide angle?

Other lenses

Yes we have tried the following, Tamron 200-400 as the pics,
Tamron 28-80, Tamron 17mm, Sigma 70-210. Will post images from res charts, and videos soon. Yes there are diffrences with each lens. Need some time, to do all this between work, running VFX, and reduce working hours at this
time of the year in Dubai.

LCD Display

Have seen the DV rack at NAB, they had announced HDV rack I think its availabe now, not sure if it will work with the JVC HD100, its a nightmare right now to capture NATIVE HDV on any system, MAC or PC. Yes you have the Aspect HD which works with both the camera and recorder with HDV720.25P the format we shoot, but even hear there is a problem with batch capture, the machine keeps hunting for the time code marked in. The other is Canopus have heard/read that it works but not sure if it works with HDV720.25P. Neither works in the NATIVE HDV, we have both the native HDV setups FCP 5.02 and Liquid 6.1, but yet again you have no capture or batch capture. So can I trust another software application that will work with the JVCHD100, not until I have tried it and it works with the JVC HD100 in HDV720.25P, and then HDV720.24P
