I mean the 7000 and an HD1 replacement. The HD1 was originally introduced at PMA in March, so we might see its replacement then.

But, the Pro group could replace the HD10 which could mean 3 new camcorders from JVC in the next 6 months.

After Sanyo introduced an under $800 720p30 camcorder that uses MPEG-4 I wonder if JVC will "leap ahead" again with an AVC/H.264 camcorder that records to a hard disk.

I don't agree. They could just have said nothing. Nobody would never know and people would not accuse them of lying if they do replace it on summer. As it is now, it will make more damage since the guy who said it is known and pretty high in the JVC food chain. If they do it, it will look bad for JVC.

No it’s not. He was obviously talking about this version, which if they had to replace it already with only 6 months would mean it wasn’t a mature and ready product.

That’s what I think. It’s about the same time between the DV500 and DV5000 and seems to be how the camera industry works in generally.

That still doesn't make it a 'mature' product. Don't take me wrong, I just picked up one and I also own the deck. It is my workflow now and I am prepared to live with it (for the next 2 or so years). Is it mature? Not necessary. There are issues we all are aware of that should, and probably will, be addressed. Via a firmware? Maybe. Maybe by a "A" or "200" version without neccessary "replacing" the camera with another model. THAT might make it "mature".
