Hi Daniel - sorry my english is very bad. - I mean: when you are going to shoot, you take the new, black/not yet recorded (not yet shot) tape, forward it to the end and reversed it back to the beginning, and then start shooting with it - and you do this with every tape before recording on it, right? - And what kind of tape (brand) do you use? I'm just suggesting that usually taking up the slack with your finger does the trick. As far as poor tape quality, well that is true with all manufactures. I have been doing this for 20 years and I always had to take up the slack in tapes, even 3/4. I think you should care about unnessesary ware, these cameras are not cheap, and not made as tough as the broadcast cameras. They do sell cheep rewiners if interested.
