Final Cut Pro Update: 5.1.1 - No 720/24P
I just downloaded the Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 Update and was very excited until I opened it. No setup for 720/24P yet. Very disappointing considering we know they have a version that works.

How about 720p25?

Hi Steve.
When you said, "I just downloaded the Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 Update", did you mean a Final Cut STUDIO update? Because your post just made me check for an update (I have Final Cut Pro Version 5.0.4) and there was nothing. There was however a "Soundtrack Pro Presets Update Version 1.0" which I downloaded. I just want to make sure I'm not missing an actual update on Final Cut Pro (even if it's not the fix for 720p24). |
You'll only be eligible for the 1.1 upgrade if you have 5.1
5.0.4 is a dead end... |
Not a Mac user, but
Seems like a very unfair policy regarding upgrades.

Thanks Nate.
I originally followed the link given by Tim (on March 10th) to obtain the Universal Crossgrade and foolishly stopped when the Apple order form said "This offer is good only in the United States and Canada." But your advice prompted me to find the link I need and I'll also post it below just in case any other of this forum's FCP users in Australia or New Zealand haven't found it yet: http://www.apple.com/au/universal/crossgrade/ |

Seems quite fair to me. |
So back to the priginal question: Does 5.1.1 support 720P24 or 720P25 mode on the HD100? I haven't had a chance to test it yet.
