Tip: Register your product with VISA for 1more year warranty

If you purchased the camera with a VISA/MC then you may be eligible for 1 more year of extended warranty. You dont need to do anything you are automatically covered.

Called Visa, and they confirmed it (Card has to be Gold/Plat)

I also registered the camera and serial number at the VISA Benefits website:
Visa Product Register

feeling much better now with 2 year warranty :)

Also: Remember to register your camera at JVC PRO website (link)

Next, scan the receipt and email it to yourself as PDF - as I am sure I will lose it somewhere.

Extra cool Ram, you are a good one!

I would have never guessed that one. I believe we used a gold card for ours, it's the only time we have used that card too.

Thanks tons for the info!

Eligible? So is it automatic or is there some other requirement that you have to meet?

American Express also has a similar program where they'll double your warranty. However, you really need to read the program details. If you buy something for business use using a personal Amex card then it is not. covered. I wouldn't be surprised if Visa has a similar limitation since business use implies something more intensive than casual use. Whether they would really be able to determine this... who knows. But the point is: be sure to read all the fine print and disclaimers before making any assumptions!
