Consensus Cleaning Tape Practice?
What is the concensus on the proper cleaning tape?
The manual says to use a JVC though I note there isn't one for sale at B&H. There are many discussions of the wet vs dry lubricants on tapes but I'm unclear how and if that applies to cleaning tapes as well. D. |
Hi Daniel,
I bought a Panasonic cleaning tape last year and can attest that it does work with the HD-100 and BR50 deck. It has been rare to need it and frankly I've only needed to use the cleaning tape with rented ProHD equipment. |

Hi Gang,
Hi Stephen, when do you use it? I occasionally see a drop out on my tapes, very rare, should I try it. Daniel I bought the JVC from their website... http://www.jvcservice.com/store/Prod...?Part=M-DV2MCL Good luck, Tom |
Same as the tape
The advice I have heard most commonly is to use whatever cleaning tape is offered by the same brand of tape you are using, whether it be JVC, Sony, etc.
