JVC BN-V438U Batteries??

Anyone have experience with these batteries ($150 US) One website says they last for 275 min. Or are we better of getting AB or IDX Bricks? And if we go with the AB/IDX solution, is the HD200 going to have a mount bracket (like the HD250) or do we have to buy an expensive kit?

There's no way you'll get 275 minutes on a HD100 or 200. The camera draws around 17W !!!! The runtime would still realisticly be under 60 minutes.

The HD200 will physically look exactly like the HD100. You will need to attach a AB or IDX mount in order to use those batteries on it.

I have this battery and it realisticly runs for about 50-60 mins with a really long charge time so get two of them and you should be right.

BN-438 Battery

I get just about exactly one miniDV tape recorded on a BN-438 battery. I wouldn't expect much more.
