Just Purchased a new HD110U
I took receipt of a new GY-HD110U, yesterday and have spent the morning learning to use it. I LOVE this camera. Downloads seem to go effortlessly to Vegas via Cineform Connect HD. My Firestore FS-4HD works flawlessly to capture m2Tfiles from the HD110. And icing for the cake is the difference in handling between this cam and my Canon XL2. The controls are intuitive, no cumbersome, hidden menus. Iris and shutter control is SO much better to manipulate than on the Canon. My Cavision matte box fits the Fujinon lens quite well. The images acquired seem to have about 1 f-stop more latitude than the canon sensors. Can anyone else verify this?
Overall, I'm very, very pleased with this camera. And many thanx to Paolo and others for posting their SCN files. I love the Panamatch. |
Hey Bill,
I just got an hd100UA, and I'm with you, its a kick ass camera. In ergonomics alone is a huge jump from my XL1. i havent even gotten around to messing with all the menu items. I'm glad to be part of the club. Thanks to Tim for posting all the useful info and answering many questions (I've read almost the entire forum), and Paolo and everyone else for the scene files. I'm just getting the hang of em. I plan on posting footage soon - Jay |
I'm buying my HD110 in a couple of weeks..... can't wait!!

I am not sure wether to go for a HD-110 or a HD-200. I think I could really use the 720/50 and 720/60 modes.

Floris,
If i had the cash i would've bought the HD200, I love the idea of slo mo and the auto flip feature for 35mm adapters. The HD110/100 is still a great camera though. |

if ya got the dough, wait for the 200/250. $8k is a lot to spend on a camera body without a lens, which will run you another $1k-9k, depending on the lens.
If I could afford it, the HD200 with a fujinon wide lens upgrade would be ideal. The way it is, I'm very happy. I can do pretty nice slomo with Vegas. The HD110 has the LCD image flip feature. |

The HD110 LCD Image flip is just for monitoring i think. It doesn't actually flip the image to tape like the HD250 can (unless I misread the specs) |
yes, u'r right.
Serious magic's HDRack 2.0 will allow an image flip, as well. |
