Tripods

Hi

Can anyone suggest a good tripod that is very easy and quick to extend and retract its height while on a small dolly?

I was using a third camera in a conference to capture audience response, however I never seem to get it still enough! I used a Merlin fig rig this time, didn't like it, and wasn't overly successful.

I am sure there are great, and expensive, steady cam type stuff around that would do the job but price is an issue.

Out of interest anyone tried this:

Thanks

Trevor

Personally I would not suggest this type you are mentioning.
After I added a IDX battery setup, the camera was much more balanced on the sholder. And I tend to use also to grip a lot with my hand on my Rod support for the MatteBox while run and gun shooting.
For really static pictures you just need a proper tri-pod.

Why not get a center post? Or how about a Diawa which has a crank on a worm gear that makes it go up and down?

Is this what you mean Trevor?

Hi Stephen

That sounds interesting. Could you possibly post a link?

Thanks

Trevor
