New Overcranked Slow-motion Short Movie (HD201E)
 

Hey Guys !
Its my first short movie with great slow-motion effect (720p60P)
and 1/120 shutter (with JVC HD201E)
In my opinion its very similar like HVX200 result(or better;)
Look it yourself and comment please.

Its great - except i can see the same kind of noise issues in there that im having.

Would you say there is more noise than the HD100?

I have not used the 100 and so cannot make the comparison - ask Phil he seems to have more experience - but can you see the noise in those images which he has put out - they do a fair job in capturing the high noise levels i think - although im getting it a much better lit and controlled environment

How much gain is that in the fire scene where we're seeing all that noise?

In the first I wolud like to explain that the fire scenes was expediently filtered in my PP2. I have boosted gain in PP2 too. The really HD201 gain was set to 12dB, but it was very, very dark around (the fire was the only one source of light). Yes, I know noise that was create in fire scenes is terrible, but i have concentrated note on the slow-motion effect.
If You want, I can show some examples of oryginal fire scenes.

What was that music track? I've heard that before and I have no idea who mixed it.

12dB's going to give you some pretty nasty noise even without boosting anything in post. I never take anything over 6 dB myself, even on things like 2/3" SD cameras that naturally have much lower noise levels than a 1/3" HD camera.

I see a lot of HDV artifacting in those fire scenes too, probably the result of noise + lots of color correction in post.

I've shot as high as 9dB of gain with my HD110. I was pretty surprised at the good quality I got, not much discernible noise, at all.
