Firewire cables
Rehi Lisa,
Yes, you'll be safe as long as you've been careful and don't have the firewire cable turned upside down - otherwise, when you turn things on, ... zap! A few device manufactures have a certain order how they want things turned on but that's rare - always READ THE "fine" MANUAL to be safe! One other important point - always be EXTRA careful plugging in an removing the firewire on the camera. An untold number of owners have damaged their firewire port connectors (physically and/or electrically) when either plugging in the cable, removing it, or stressing it while the cable is in the camera. Other than these matters, you should be home free. Enjoy, Michael |
Hi Michael,
It seems the firewire ports are extra sensitive. I know I will be checking to make sure which end is up before I hook it up. I've been avoiding using it up until now because I really had not needed but now that projects are in the works it's time to connect. Thanks to everyone here that takes time to help me out. Best Regards, Lisa |
