HD200/250 720 50/60p Question

Is the 50p and 60p used only for slowmotion? or can 50p or 60p be used as 60i is used? as in a pure Video look? and not the infamous "film look".

50/60p is not just for slowmotion, at all... the fact that it's showing you 60 ''pictures'' a second, just like 60i, gives you that flowing video look, as well. Keep in mind that when you are using it for a 50 % slowmotion, what you get is either 24, 25 or 30 frames per second, giving you that ''film look''.

No. 720p/50 (along with 1080i/25) is the standard HD broadcast format in the UK and many other countries.

No. They are two different things. One is progressive the other interlaced. They do the same thing, display images on a screen, but in a different way. One is bacon the other is cheese.

Liam.

Thanks guys, I thought as much but some guy posted that in another forum I think it was The Canopus Forum.... he said it was only used for slo-mo, so i just had to ask.... but is there an NLE that can edit the 720p60 video stream?

FCP does it as AIC without TC. Otherwise one needs a Decklink or Kona.
