Are the GY-HM700 "Info" Files needed for transfer to FCP?

I was wondering,

Are the additional "Info" files created by the HM700 needed? I've been just plugging the card into a reader and transferring the mov's directly to one of my Mac HD's.

I've been editing in FCP Studio 2 and so far haven't noticed any problem.

Is it alright to disregard these files?

No

They are just reference files for the card when the info from the camera is written to the card.
You just need the video files thats it.

Thanks Doug,

I thought that was the case, but I wanted to hear the definitive answer before I go to far along.

I really like this camera!!! Coming from the world of straight DV to HD Pro is a bit of a learning curve, but thanks to all of the members here on DVI, I have the best database of info at the stroke of a key.

Thanks to you Doug and all the others who lend a helping hand...to all the newb'ys

Now if there were an all telling DVD on the 100/700.....??? Tim is it ready yet???

Oh well, I guess you just got to wait for what you want....

Thanks guys (gals)
