HM700 with 14x Canon Lens can use WCV82SC !!!

Hello all!
I don't know if anybody knows this, cuz I didn't see it anywere, But the WCV82SC can be screwed to the inside mount of the 14x lens hood!

anyone tried that?

if not which WA is the best option?

Asaf

Hi Asaf,

in 2 Weeks i can give you some information about it, when i get my hm700 with canon lens.

The first i´ll do, is mounting the jvc wide angle on the canon...

That´s a fine idea, because...it goes up to 70 degrees... by factor 0,82.

greets...

Hi,
I tried it, and it works perfectly!

Thomas Klausnitz March 24th, 2010 02:09 AM

hi asaf,

thats sounds nice. i will use this combination to, as first for the wide angle.

You have an vignetting or has the wcv enough potential?

But, thanks for this info, i´m to be curious when i get my hm700 on next monday.

Professional 0.8x wide conversion lens. 82mm.
It will be nearly like the 13xFujinon 3,5 lens - but cheaper, probably with some CAs

Eric Deyerler March 26th, 2010 04:28 AM

Some German distributors say, it don't work with the HM700, you can't zoom in without vignette.

Asaf Benatia March 26th, 2010 10:23 AM

yes i can!
it works great!

Eric Deyerler March 27th, 2010 12:26 PM

and you see no vignette on the wide end of the Canon 14x lens

Thomas Klausnitz March 28th, 2010 01:25 AM

oh, thats nice, thank you guys for these information, so i can use my wsc-82 to get an 3.6mm super wide angle objective.
i will test this tomorrow when i get my gy-hm700.

thanks, thomas

I'm with Eric on this one... at $500+ bucks, i'd like to see a sample video that shows that this WA adapter can be used on the 14X canon lens, and you see no vignette on the wide end...

I can tell you that the Canon 14x lens hood is barely big enough as I found out. I have a rain cover that has a hood and I made the mistake of letting it get past the front of the lens hood. It could be seen at full wide and only 1/32nd of an inch was past the hood.

Although not apples to apples, as a test, I tried to stack a couple filters I used my thin Kasemann CP filter, and just for ha ha's added another standard filter on top. sure enough it vignetted on the wide end of the Canon 14x lens.

The rather thick housing on the WA adapter makes me believe it will be visable before you even get to full wide. Even more is the fact that it mounts onto the hood which projects it out even further.

Please provide more information...

Hi,
this clip is mostly with WCV-82sc on canon 14x.
you can see.. almost all shots are wide open.

we here in israel in holiday for the next 2 days, when i back i will make a shot with and without the adapter.

Eric Deyerler March 29th, 2010 02:27 PM

Can you make a picture from the cam with the lens, do you mount the wide-extender inside the hood?!

Asaf Benatia March 29th, 2010 03:01 PM

yes
inside the hood

Eric Deyerler March 29th, 2010 04:51 PM

really you make that in the hood and it works!

I made Screenshots from a testshoot.

Theres no vignetting, but i think the CA is heavy with or w/o WCV.
