Hi gang. We've recently had some very nice gigs shooting with some nice cameras, the F900 and most recently the RED One. Our workflow is 23.98 Apple PreRes 422 HQ. We will create a Final Cut master self contained movie and import it into our "bars and slate" project to play out to a beta sp deck through a BM Decklink for making station dubs.

My question is should I use a 23.98 or 29.97 timeline? Where does the pulldown for the beta get added? I would assume that if I use the 23.98 timeline, the deck adds the pull down. I know if I use the 29.97 timeline Final cut makes the extra frames and the deck just captures the 29.97 NTSC signal out of Final Cut. I've tried both and when playing back either, the frame shudder seems to be the same and looks un-natural.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
