Poor quality frames
1 Attachment(s)
I'm running into a few frames on my footage that look odd. They look like digital imperfections. I use a z1u and wondering if anyone can let me know what this is from. I clean the heads before each shoot (with a special tape)
I've attached an image below: thanks in advance. |
Hi David..............
Could you post a frame that doesn't look "odd"?
I can't make up my mind whether half of what I'm seeing is the squishing to get it onto wherever or something wrong with the picture. Doesn't look like any digital problem I've ever seen, looks more like it was shot on a 1930's box brownie with 75000 ASA film and out of focus to add insult to injury. CS |
I don't think it is a digital tape writing / reading issue.
My first line of inquiry would be with the sensor block for the camera and if there is something slightly loose. Unfortunately for you it might be an intermittent issue by the sounds of things. Show the pic to a video camera technician and see what sort of reaction you get. Andrew |
Hi David,
I've seen similar screens from my Sony FX7, typically following a photographer's flash which seems to trip up the encoder. On another note, head cleaning tapes are quite abrasive and it may not be the best thing to run it before every job, you'll wear the heads out. My Sony cameras have always provided a warning when I need a head cleaning. Jeff Pulera Safe Harbor Quote:

Re: Poor quality frames
Thanks for your replies... we recently upgraded to DSLR shooting so heads and tapes are no longer an issue. I never did find out the problems... maybe a bad batch of tapes... :/
