I picked up the 694 version recently - used it while on vacation. It worked great.

Manfrotto 560B Base - friction connected?

I recently received a Manfrotto 560B and I noticed that the fluid cartridge slides off. I think it's defective. For anyone that has one, does the fluid cartridge just rotate but not come off the monopod?

Manfrotto 560B Questions

Two last questions before I order one:
- is there a way to attach a pan to the "head" that comes with the 650B?
- the 66cm/26inch is still a little to long for the bag I usually take on a plane. Is there a way to dissemble the 560B in order to shorten it for transport?

thanks!

Martin

Two versions of the Manfrotto 560B?

Manfrotto has apparently changed the design of the base legs. In the link bellow there are two PDF files. The one with serial numbers from A0516988 and up shows the original design. The new design starts with serial number A0762962 and up. Does anyone know if B&H have the updated design?

Attaching Pan Head

Martin,

I have a bogen 503 attached to my 560B. All you need is a 1/4" to 3/8 inch adapter. Unscrew the 560 B head and attach the adapter. Most tripod heads will mount to the 3/8 screw.

Thanks,
I just realized that I missed a word in my question:
is it possible to attach a pan HANDLE to the "head" that comes with the 560?

Pan handle

Martin,

No you can not attach a pan handle to the head (without some welding). But the head easily come off to expose a 1/4 inch bolt or you acan get an adapter to an 3/8 inch bolt. The more we use this monopod the more we like it. For the price, I do not think you will be dissappointed.

I take it that NONE of you have purchased one from B&H?
