Graham, have you found the actual download site? I couldn't wade through the Japanese site to find it.

Graham,

Up to now, I have tested the version 4 provided by Sanyo. The problem I got when burning a test DVD was that the video freezes for a few 1/10th of a sec each time a clip is ending...
Any idea? Is it the DVD reader which has some problems to read the DVD-RW?
Should I update to version 5?

Graham Jones May 22nd, 2006 11:44 AM

Not sure what's causing that Erick - it's not happening for me, so I guess it's not the Ulead software.

I'd suggest searching for reviews to determine whether version 5 is a worthwhile upgrade.

I guess an equivalent of this plug-in for version 5 is already in our version 4, considering it's a 'SANYO SE' version which works with the HD1.

To be honest, I'm surprised how useful the bundled one is and how good the PAL SD DVDs are. Hadn't even installed until recently, simply because I heard it used processing. You do see a little processing but it's minor and I don't think I've burned a better PAL DVD from the HD1 footage any other way.

Hi,
I have the same "freezing" problem - when creating dvd's out of HD recorded MP4's. Tried with supplied MovieFactory 5.0 SE, MovieFactory 5.0 Plus and Video Studio 10...
Nobody has a clue?

Thanks in advance!

Mircea Crutescu October 9th, 2006 12:57 PM

maybe because the mp4 is 30fps and my PAL dvd is 25 fps?

Mircea Crutescu October 9th, 2006 03:13 PM

That was it!
Just use NTSC DVD creation...

Well, but then you scale it even down to 720x480 resolution only,
which is bad...
Better use MPEG4CAM2AVI first to convert the MP4 toi AVI
and then resample the 30 FPS to 25 frames/sec and 720x576 via
virtualdub.org first or some other interpolation software,
that can handle this framerate and framesize interpolation
and then directly build a PAL DVD from the 720x576 sized AVI !

This then will probably have much better quality.

Regards, Stefan.

sounds good ... but how to change the frame rate?
with the basic setup - the resulting avi has the same "jumps"!
