Skin Touch up for FCP

Just invested in the newblue fx iv with skin touch up .
all i can say that i am disappointment with the speed for doing the changes and the color wheel on fcp appearing. does it work with fcp ? using mac pro, 10.6.5 , fcp studio 3

Yes, Skin touch up does work in FCP. In fact, within the past couple of weeks I've been working on a tutorial for Skin Touch Up using FCP. I didn't really notice any particular slowness when opening the color picker.

thanks for your reply. Can message me your editing system ?

Is this software supposed to work in real time ?

Hi Sam. Unfortunately Skin Touch Up is not a real-time effect; there is a lot of processing going on, so you do have to render it to be able to play back the effect. However, you can probably speed it up a little. What codec (compression format) is your video footage in? If you are using a highly compressed format like AVCHD or MPEG-4, you might want to try converting it to one of Apple's native formats like ProRes. The files are larger, but Final Cut can usually process them more quickly. Also, make sure that your sequence settings are the same as your video footage. So, for example, if your footage is Apple ProRes, make sure that your sequence is also set to Apple ProRes.
