Hi Jim,

I'm using Premiere 6 LE, VX2000, and Sony VAIO desktop.
I've been doing very well with editing source from the VX2000's 16:9 mode, and keeping it the same pixel aspect all the way through the export to AVI.

I use TMPGEnc to convert from AVI to MPG-2 or MPG-1 which ends up doing the final "letterboxing" (black bars). This way, the AVI output is "pure" the whole way through until the final compression.

I'll email you, too, in case you are still waiting for help!
