Graphics for use in my video

If I need to create and use a graphic in my video, what is the best method?

Create it in Photoshop, then import to premiere? use Illustrator? What size should it be (dimension, not widescreen) and to achieve max quality I'm guessing it should be a TIFF or TARGA file?

thank u very much!

The size is 720x480. I tend to use the .JPG format with very little compression. My current editing system is a Canopus DV Rex RT. RexEdit can import .bmp and .jpg images. Not sure about Premiere. Remember this is DV, which itself is compressed 5:1. If you're careful with using .jpg's, they'll do fine; personally I think .tiff is overkill for DV. Hope this helps,
