People only have to worry about virtual memory if there are only 2GB or less RAM in the system. Pretty much any 64-bit computer with 4GB ram, the chance of overloading RAM causing paging of swap file occurred is very low. I put 12GB ram to my video workstation. I didn't bother to touch the pagefile settings in my computer.

If a system has 2GB RAM, I would rather spend money adding more memory than buying a fast harddrive.

It's not hard to blow on by 4GB and wind up in virtual land. I do it all the time.
