VCD burning software.
I am trying to create some VCD's of various activities. I am using Adobe Prem 6.5 to create the AVI files as well as the MPEG files via a addin CODEC. I have recently installed a new codec (one recommended here), now I need to know which would be the best software package to turn the MPEG files into a multi platform VCD. By mutli platform I mean DVD standalone and PC based players as well as PC based CD ROM units.
I know that the quality can be good. HELP!!! :-) |
Hi,
Use Nero Burning Room. Pre-compress those file with Premiere 6.5. In Nero, create a new VCD project. |
VCD making is almost piece of cake now-a-days. Any burning
software I've seen can burn VCD. Just have the MPEG1 (VCD compliant!) ready and start up your favorite burn program (I know that both Nero (which I use) and Easy CD Creator can do it) and select the VCD template. Drag the file in. If it is a good burn progam (like Nero) it checks the file and doesn't re-encode it (which Adaptec did in the past I think, don't know if they still do that) and you are done. |
I use the free download Tsunami MPEG Encoder (www.tmpgenc.net) for conversion of avi to mpeg-1 (VCD). This program is VERY good. Fast and converts straight from the DV avi file. The results may even look almost like DVD for scenes with minimal movement!

TMPGENC for the conversion to MPEG, then Nero for creating the VCD.
