Besides your videocam, tripod, lights and boom/mic...other equipment you own/use?

Just curious what else do you have in your film making inventory besides a videocam, tripod, some lights and a boom/mic?

35mm lens adapter! I use the RedRock M2. The difference is night & day when it comes to the quality of video you have for your "films"!

Reflectors, stands and foam core. I also have a "Cinesaddle" which is good if I have to do a lot of B-roll shots quickly, or a lot of low angle stuff.

I have a Cavision 4x4 Matte Box with some grad filters. I don't get to use it as much as I would like too, but it looks great when I do!

interesting question...each of us could probably

learn some tricks/tips from the responses.

While I don't think I qualify as a "film maker", my "kit" includes much of the aforementioned stuff, though not all of it (so I've already learned something from the other posts), as well as a monopod, wireless mic system, mixer, and a Zoom H4 for audio backup. Hoping the near future will bring an extra handle for my tripod head, and remote zoom/focus/iris control.

Zoom H4 is not a good solution for audio backup, because it goes out of sync with video every 30minutes or so, it has a different "speed" than video.
This problem has been acknowledged by ZOOM support and can be found somewhere in this forum.

For audio recording I'd suggest Fostex FR2LE.

Mixer (SD302), recorder (SD722), Stedicam Merlin, Manfrotto FigFig, mattebox + some filters (soft & grad), monopod, reflectors, wind protection for mics (Softies & Windjammers), Rain Slicker for cam, dedecated bags for audio, large SUV...

Like Chris, beautiful girl assistant/photographer, Varizoom focus control, of course the wireless mics, a few audio adapters, and thats pretty much it. I try to keep it as light as possible, which isn't a very easy task.

Tape (both HDV and the sticky kind!)

Slate, dolly, ProAm 12' Jib, 5" LCD monitor.

A pair of sony wireless mics, an omni-directional mic and xlr adapter kit (male to 1/4', male to mini-jack, male to male, etc). Wireless mics can be adapted to just about any situation.
