Your favorite Hardware (computer) vendor?

Rather late company decision to purchase a new computer for video editing by the end of the year for expense purposes.

Main use currently will be to produce corporate type training videos in SD but like most everyone else looking at the possibility of working with HD in the near future. Main apps. center around Adobe's Master Suite. One partner in our group does weddings as well (stills) and there's another possibility there for video in the future.

Looking for an out-of-the-box system and I've seen guygraphics.com recommended here and elsewhere. Any comments pro/con re. this company?

Info re. any other NLE computer vendors you may have used with good results would be appreciated. Budget is in the +/= $5k range.

AFAIK, we're only allowed to refer you to sponsors of this site, but happily, B&H is a sponsor, so I'm free to refer you. However, I would refer you to them even if this weren't the case - B&H is pretty much THE go-to retailer for all things video, audio, photography, etc. They sell several turnkey computer systems - perhaps one of those could work.

I just bought a mess of equipment yesterday. I researched this for a long time. I bought my camera from a non-sponser because the gave me a killer deal cuz the screwed up a previous order (one made before I knew about DVinfo) But I bought everything thing else, tripod, filter, lenscontroller... from Tapeworks Texas.. Great prices great customer service. I would have bought my camera too, they had the best price on the internet.

B and H had everything in stock, but accessories were much better deal at TTW.

I think Tapeworks Texas is a sponsor.. it says so on the sponsor page anyways.

oops... I did not realize that referrals were not allowed.

Yep, I do a lot of business w/ B&H for photo gear. Make it to their store every few months typically to check out different gear.

I'll consider them as well as look at other options...
